英文口說總是想得很慢怎麼辦呢？這個問題幾乎困擾著每位同學，你是否在口說答題時，經常需要一邊說一邊組織句子，結果回答變得很卡？

這時即使句子中單字的發音對了、文法對了，但不順暢也會大大影響托福成績！今天這篇文章要教你運用實用的句型、填充語 (fillers)、過渡語 (transitional phrases)，拯救口說流暢度！

就以托福口說 Task 1 的題目為例，在考試中你只有 15 秒的時間思考回答：

When some people have a little extra money, they like to spend it right away on something they enjoy. Others prefer to save the extra money. Which do you like to do? Explain why.

一、開頭類句型

好的開始是成功的一半，在開始回答前你可以這樣說，多爭取一些思考時間：

  • Well, to be honest…
  • I guess I would say…
  • Hmm, how can I put this?

範例：“Well, how can I put this? To be honest, I would prefer to save my money in the bank because I want to spend it on something I truly desire, rather than using it for instant gratification.”

二、延伸舉例的過渡語

採用「先重提舊資訊，再帶出新重點」的方法，不僅能填補思考間隙，更能增加回答的層次。

  • By Ving… (舊資訊), SVO (新資訊).
  • After SVO… (舊資訊), SVO (新資訊).
  • Because of …(舊資訊), SVO (新資訊).

範例：“For example, my parents used to give me 1,000 NTD as pocket money every week. By saving these allowances little by little, I was eventually able to buy the video game console I had longed for over several months. After I finally bought my dream toy, I not only played with it constantly but also shared it with my friends.”

三、能快速使用的句型和填充語

思路突然卡住怎麼辦？下面三組詞語適用於多種情境和內容，可以幫你渡過難關：

  • “I must admit…”
  • “Honestly…”
  • “You know…”

範例：“Honestly, after I finally bought my dream toy, I not only played with it constantly but also shared it with my friends. I must admit, this choice brought me significant joy.”
